Spotted a Kea by the roadside as we were driving out of the park.

Caspian Tern - only one

We saw two California Quaill near Awaroa in the bushland near the walkers camping area.

I saw a ferret at seperation point

We saw a tomtit (on the pine tree around the campaite), two variable oyatercatchers (on the beach sand) and a few kereru's (flying over the back hills behind the the camp).

There was a friendly Fernbird prancing around the campsite at Waiharakake.

Not sure if its relevent but we saw a dead mouse on the beach at Anchorage yesterday. Just thought I would notify. It was about half way down the beach by the rocks that are out of the water at low tide.

We saw a family of 2 adult variable oystercatchers and 2 juvenile variable oystercatchers scouring the beach for a couple of hours.
