Saw one Weka lurking about trying to get a quick meal from an unsuspecting tourist. At anchorage beach around the end with the path to the torrent bat crossing (i.e. furthest from the actual anchorage camping site in anchorage bay).

There is a Weka around Apple Tree Campsite that is very friendly and looks to have stolen food based on the plastic around the reeds where he headed after flogging some of our scraps while we were washing up.
There were also a nber of european wasps around the campsite.
