Weka

Had left picnic table at Tonga Quarry and started trail to walk to Medlands Bay. Can’t quite remember exactly where Weka was sighted but can’t have been too far along trail

We were waiting for Wilsons Abel Tasman boat at Medlands Bay sat on the wooden bench on the left hand side of the path as you descend from the public toilets towards the bay and the Weka appeared from the vegetation behind the bench

15 mins towards Bark bay from Falls river.

Very friendly bird! Their Eyes are red soo cool! :-)
