Kaka

One single Kaka. I sadly forgot to take a picture because I was so stunned to see one.

Location not coordinates from above…Spotted directly above the track about 30 minutes before entering Bark Bay (North bound). These two photos are both live so you can see short video snippets of the kaka flying and in the tree. Distinctive red colours are shown. So lucky to have seen this beautiful bird.

We didn't see it clearly enough to get a photo, but heard it flying and squawking. It was on the track high up north of Mutton Bay but south of the top of the hill.

Lone kaka flew overhead whilst i was sitting by the rangers cottage. The trees obscured an band id.

Anchorage Beach. A kākā flew straight across the full length of the beach, coming from the southern direction heading north.

A pair observed calling when crossing Torrent Bay estuary at low tide - flying southward towards the track junction from Anchorage Hut.
