Heard then saw 2 Kaka just off the Wainui track. They were about 50m off the track between traplines 99 & 100. They were hanging around a tree - hopefully on a nest?...

Kaka heard loud and clear then seen just past the last biggish river crossing 15 mins before the Wainui hut. Then seen again flying over the wainui hut at lunch time. Sorry couldnt see any bands it /they were too high

Kaka seen just by the 'runway' leaving the old homestead site below the Wainui saddle. It was being chased off by a hawk. Very cool!
