I ran the track from Marahau to Totaranui. I remember stopping quite early on, it was still dark, to say hello to a young weka on the upper side of the track. Probably anout halfway from Marahau to the Anchorage turn off. I saw about three more on my run.

Saw a weka on the beach infront of the camping ground about 3pm.

Under the torrent river bridge. At least one was male as i heard it call. Banded birds. Left blue, right nothing.
Left black, right nothing
