We saw a family of 2 adult variable oystercatchers and 2 juvenile variable oystercatchers scouring the beach for a couple of hours.

We saw 3 of these moving from the beach to the bay.

There is a Weka around Apple Tree Campsite that is very friendly and looks to have stolen food based on the plastic around the reeds where he headed after flogging some of our scraps while we were washing up.
There were also a nber of european wasps around the campsite.

One of our Birdsong volunteers spotted a large black pig on the trap line between Observation beach and Watering Cove

Saw one female with two piglets. Sighted on the track at the torrent bay high tide/ low tide and anchorage junction. Headed east up the hill toward the coast.
