Not sure if its relevent but we saw a dead mouse on the beach at Anchorage yesterday. Just thought I would notify. It was about half way down the beach by the rocks that are out of the water at low tide.

Seen walking along the path. About 3 kms before anchorage.

Saw one Weka lurking about trying to get a quick meal from an unsuspecting tourist. At anchorage beach around the end with the path to the torrent bat crossing (i.e. furthest from the actual anchorage camping site in anchorage bay).

On track between Anchorage and Te Pukatea Bay. Mother pig.

We saw a family of 2 adult variable oystercatchers and 2 juvenile variable oystercatchers scouring the beach for a couple of hours.

We saw 3 of these moving from the beach to the bay.

There is a Weka around Apple Tree Campsite that is very friendly and looks to have stolen food based on the plastic around the reeds where he headed after flogging some of our scraps while we were washing up.
There were also a nber of european wasps around the campsite.
